Califone Completes Cassette Upgrade

Califone Introduced its Revamped Deluxe Cassette Player/Recorder.
The CAS5272 is the company’s top-of-the-line model, used most often by educators for English Language Learning & English Language Development and foreign language applications. The 10-Watt Deluxe model is loud enough to be heard by 75 people and for listening center uses, features seven built-in headphone jacks so no jackbox is needed for small groups. Its built-in electret mic is complemented by 3.5mm mic & 2.5mm remote dynamic mic inputs for recording.
The new model takes the place of the 5262AV and 5272AV, its 5 and 10-Watt predecessors. Understanding that classroom and library AV gear needs to be rugged enough to withstand the knocks and bumps associated with everyday use, the new player/recorder is made from tough ABS plastic. It has an auto-stop function, which minimizes strain on the tape itself once the end of a side is reached, helping to preserve the tape. The rugged player/recorder is also available in a powered learning center (CAS5272PLC) configuration with 6 Monaural Headphones and a rugged storage case.
“The introduction of the upgraded Deluxe player/recorder is the third release of a cassette product this year by Califone,” shared the company’s Tim Ridgway. He continues, “It reflects our continued commitment to the category. Technology continues to evolve in daycare centers, schools and libraries, but they still have an investment in content stored on cassette which Califone will continue to serve.”
