Califone Announced a Partial Consolidation of its Longstanding Line of Cassette-Based Players and Recorders
Effective immediately, the CAS1500 replaces the 1300AV, 1500AV-BL, 3112AV, and 3132AV models. The new rugged 1/2 Watt upgrade is loud enough to be played for a classroom of up to twenty students. Understanding that AV gear used by students needs to be rugged enough to withstand the knocks and bumps associated with everyday use, the new player/recorder is made from tough ABS plastic.
It has an auto-stop function, which minimizes strain on the tape itself once the end of a side is reached, helping to preserve the tape. The rugged player/recorder is also available in a powered learning center (CAS1500PLC) configuration with 6 Monaural Headphones,an 8-position Monaural jackbox with a storage case.
Since differentiated learning usually occurs simultaneously in full classrooms, the CAS1500 has been designed so that when a headphone is plugged into one of its two 1/4″ headphone jacks, audio playback occurs only through the headphones, not through the external speaker. For larger groups of learners, the CLS1500PLC includes six monaural headphones, an 8-position monaural jackbox, and a rugged case for storage.
