Califone in CNN 2013 Coolest Gadget Picks CAS1500 in Fortune Magazine

Fortune magazine and CNN announced the Califone CAS1500 Cassette Recorder/ Player is included in the leading business magazine’s top gadgets for 2013.

The prestigious list is annually produced and represents to many as the hippest products around. Most of this year’s thirty-six items are either new but some such as the CAS1500 represent older technologies.

“This is my favorite piece of technology right now,”

The veritable workhorse is a staple in PreK through middle school- level classrooms for language learning and early reading activities. Since so much emphasis within the Common Core State Standards is placed on reading skills, teachers are relying on listening and playback devices to help students learn.

“We’ve included several items on this list that aren’t brand new for 2013, but this item is definitely old school. “It’s kind of shameful, but to be totally honest, this is my favorite piece of technology right now,” Fortune editor Ryan Bradley admits. Why? With large, physical buttons, it’s ridiculously simple to operate — especially when you’re making magic in the kitchen. “The fidelity can’t really be beat when you’re cooking.”"
