Califone® Introduces AX-14 – USB Converter makes broadband available to analog world.
Califone International announced an expansion of its computer peripheral line with the introduction of the AX-14 USB headphone connector.
The AX-14 enables today’s standard 3.5mm equipped headphones to connect with USB ports, the standard that’s largely replaced 3.5mm receptacles on new computers. The emerging USB technology delivers a significantly faster data flow, making it the preferred choice for multimedia applications including audio streaming, tutorials and games.
“What the AX-14 delivers,” explains the company’s Marketing Director Tim Ridgway, “is a practical approach for schools to keep their existing investment in headphones current with today’s hardware.” Schools have been unable to use their 3.5mm plug headsets on newer I-Macs since the popular computers began arriving with USB ports only. The AX-14 is a simple to use connector between these headsets and USB ports. Ridgway continues, “The AX-14 delivers a viable way for students to make use of the best available technologies to meet standards and maximize their learning.”
The introduction of the simple to use AX-14 follows a series of computer peripheral products launched by Califone this year, each offering a practical solution to take better advantage of the increasing linkages between audio and computer technologies.
