Califone Introduces Listening First Headsets
Califone Debuts Listening First Headsets Featuring Brightly Colored and Animal Themed, Ambient-Noise Reducing Earcups to Engage Young Learners.
Califone International, Inc. today announces the launch of the Listening First™ Headsets. The new headsets are an extension of the popular Listening First headphone line and now feature a built-in microphone onto the familiar brightly colored and animal-themed designs.
The Listening First Headsets are made with rugged ABS plastic (for added student safety) and are available in three color choices—blue, red and yellow—or three animal themes—bear, panda or tiger. Similar to the headphones, the Listening First Headsets are ideal for use in kindergartens, primary grades as well as by special needs students.
The headsets feature around-ear, ambient noise-reducing earcups that deliver maximum protection against exterior sounds, supporting hearing safety. The Listening First Headsets offer dual 3.5mm, USB and single To Go™ plugs, enabling students to use the headsets for digital literacy projects with computers and mobile devices (including iOS and Android-based smartphones and tablets). The noise-reducing microphone includes a reinforced boom for durability.
Headsets are an essential classroom tool to support computer and mobile-based learning activities such as student-created podcasts and online classroom discussions. The Listening First Headsets help students build their speaking and listening skills, which are critical components under the English Language Arts (ELA) portion of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Additionally, the headsets help schools meet the national online testing goals for the CCSS.
“The Listening First headsets were developed in response to how younger students are learning using computers and mobile devices with classmates, in read-alongs, online and through their production of podcasts and videos. There was a need based on these activities for age-appropriate equipment,” said Tim Ridgway, vice president of marketing for Califone. “The Listening First Headsets will help educators effectively incorporate these types of early elementary learning activities to increase student engagement and improve understanding—the possibilities are only limited by the imagination.”
The Listening First Headsets feature a two-year warranty, the first headsets made for children with a warranty of that duration.
