Califone Launches Mobile Device-Capable Loudspeaker

Mobile learning in classrooms is becoming increasingly popular, with districts exploring Bring Your Own Technology (BYOT) initiatives in light of tighter budgets and delayed technology upgrades. With educators depending on mobile devices to keep students engaged, dependable and durable companion equipment is an essential component to every classroom. The breakthrough wireless PA419 from Califone provides the portability and versatility of the company’s wireless PA systems, with seamless integration with iPhone and iPod devices, allowing for a customized audio-visual education experience.

Designed specifically for use in schools, the PA419 is a durable PA system that doubles as a media player, featuring a built-in DVD/CD player. There is also an innovative iPhone/iPod docking station, an increasingly sought-after feature, according to a recently released survey. The PA419 also includes USB connectivity, allowing for the PA system to connect to virtually any computer, projector, whiteboard, stereo, mixer, or other multimedia players.

Teachers can easily integrate mobile learning tools into daily instruction, capturing and keeping the attention of an entire class through high-quality sound. It features dual wireless mic receivers, so up to three presenters at one time can be heard. Its built-in handle makes for easy carrying from the classroom to the auditorium, events and athletic games, while the integrated tripod mount enables it to be elevated for superior sound delivery for schools and districts.

With mobile learning only increasing in schools, it’s important that educators have dependable, reliable tools they can use to enhance learning and activities,” said Tim Ridgway, VP of marketing, Califone. “The iPhone Wireless PA system (PA419) allows educators to seamlessly integrate mobile learning devices into classroom instruction and beyond.”

The PA419 features exceptional PA features in addition to mobile device capabilities. The DVD/CD player enables pitch control so music, dance and PE teachers can vary the playback speed of audio along with voice priority, so presenters can speak into a microphone and override music for messaging. The PA419 provides clear sound for audiences of up to 300 people in a 2,000 square foot room with its 30W RMS amplifier and boasts a full-range, 4 ohm, 6.5 inch speaker, and will run for a minimum of two hours on its rechargeable battery. It operates on the same 900MHz frequency as rest of the Califone line of portable UHF PA gear, meaning it can be used with them to handle larger audiences and shares the same set of wireless mics to help save budgets.
