Califone New Tablet Expands Flexibility, Creativity and Collaboration for Computer-Based Presentations
Califone International, Inc., announces the launch of its Wireless Tablet Interface, designed specifically with educators in mind. The lightweight tablet enables users to wirelessly control computer desktop and presentation functions up to 50 feet from the computer when its USB receiver is connected.
When used in conjunction with a Windows-only computer and connected projector or whiteboard, the WT1 tablet provides educators with unique capabilities for increased classroom interactivity and online learning. While it can be enabled as a PC mouse, additional software functions allow the user to draw within an on-screen presentation using red, blue and multi-colored pens. Users also can erase sketches, magnify images and details, or capture snapshots of the on screen display, helping to point out or add specific information to any existing presentation.
The Wireless Tablet Interface also is ideal for fostering student collaboration and team-building activities through multiple independent learning-based groups. With 18 available frequency channels, additional tablets can be assigned a unique identity, preventing interference within a 100-foot radius. By using tablets simultaneously in multiple groups, students are able to engage in shared discussion and learning.
“Using the Wireless Tablet Interface, educators are able to incorporate technology in the classroom using real-time, interactive presentations. With its multi-channel capability, students also are able to actively participate in the learning in progress, increasing student engagement,” said Tim Ridgway, VP of marketing.
