Califone Provides Durable and Safe Technology for Student Use

Posted by Denielle on 6th Mar 2014

As international studies show that students in the United States continue to fall behind other countries in science and math test scores, the results demonstrate that students are not adequately prepared for a global community that is shaped by science and technology. To help educators engage students in science, Califone International, Inc., introduces a microscope built specifically for use in the classroom.

Whether examining a hair follicle, leaf, ant, or piece of cork, conducting experiments with a microscope gives students a chance to learn about the world around them up close. Additionally, hands-on classroom activities allow students to explore the many facets of science, technology and math, while encouraging the development of key skills they need to succeed in the 21st century.

Additionally, as the USB Microscope can be connected to a classroom computer, students can be split into groups to conduct experiments and see the whole picture on the screen at the same time. If the teacher chooses to instruct using the microscope, the image can be shown to the entire class using the classroom computer and a projector system.

The USB Microscope has a lens ideal for student-run experiments and a manual focus that ranges from 4″ to infinite. With varying image resolution settings, a 24-bit true color resolution and video and snapshot capability, the unit also has built-in image and color compression for enhanced viewing.
