Califone Releases USB Microphone for Voice Amplification in Classrooms and Presentation Settings
The microphone connects to a USB port to provide high quality voice amplification through a computer’s built-in or connected external speakers.
The new handheld microphone delivers crisp, clear audio, enabling voice amplification in classrooms, churches, meeting rooms and a variety of other presentation settings. Students can use the microphone for call-and-response activities, while educators can incorporate the device into everyday classroom instruction.
The microphone transfers audio through its high-speed USB connector to a Mac or PC for immediate broadcast. Its frequency response is optimized for the narrower range of speech intelligibility rather than the broader spectrum used for music, making it ideal for language-oriented activities. The 10’ foot cord allows the speaker the flexibility to move about while presenting. The USB Microphone is made of rugged ABS plastic for added durability and safety.
“The USB Microphone provides endless possibilities for classroom settings,” said Tim Ridgway, vice president of marketing for Califone.“The microphone helps students learn, enabling them to record their responses and play them back on the computer or through connected speakers for whole class learning. Creating call-and-response activities is an effective way to involve students in exercises to model vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar and reinforces the “Speaking and Listening” portions of theELA anchor standards.”
