Califone® Upgrades 1776 Powered Listening Center
Califone International announced two upgrades to its already popular 1776PLC Spirit Listening Center.
Already a staple in k-12 classrooms, the 1776PLC bundles its namesake 1776 multimedia player with a 4-position stereo jackbox with four stereo/mono headphones all inside a durable carrying case. The package can then be used to provide an isolated sound field without disrupting other activities in the classroom.
The powered listening center’s first upgrade was a roomier “2005” carrying case to replace its former “2001” carrying case. The black polyethylene container is deeper than its predecessor to better accommodate its 1776 Spirit AM/FM, cassette, CD player; four 3068AV headphones and 4-position 1214AVPS stereo jack box. In addition to the extra roominess of the 2005 case, its contents are now protected by the addition of a generous foam liner inside.
The headphones used in the 1776PLC have also been upgraded to the popular 3068AV models. With an adjustable headband and volume controls on each ear, the versatility of the 3068AV is reinforced by its ability to alternate between stereo and mono with the flip of a switch. The headphones come with a 6′ coiled cord, a mini plug and also a 1⁄4 ” snap-on adapter for extra adaptability.
The upgrades were made without changing pricing on the package. “Our commitment to schools means increasing the number of features and benefits of the 1776PLC without raising costs,” said the company’s Marketing Director, Tim Ridgway
