Califone Upgrades CA-2 Headphone to Enhance Accessibility with Tablets and Smartphones
Califone announced a modification to the plug on its popular Individual Storage Stereo Headphone (model CA-2). Effective immediately, it now comes with a straight 3.5mm stereo plug, replacing the right-angle plug that’s been used since the headphone’s April, 2003 launch.
Relied on by educators, the frequency response of the CA-2 headphones is tailored for speech intelligibility, which makes it ideal for helping students with language learning, read-along activities, literacy applications, in computer labs and increasingly with mobile devices.
Educators often use the CA-2 when hygiene can become an issue in class . Each CA-2 headphone includes a resealable moisture-resistant storage bag that helps kill head lice within 24-48 hours. Each bag has a labeling area that can be personalized with a student’s name to prevent unintended sharing of the headphone from one person to another.
The CA-2 headphone has on-ear earcups, which help reduce the need for students to increase volume levels as they help block external sounds better than ear buds. .
To aid teachers in staying organized, a classroom pack of thirty CA-2 headphones is available with a storage case.
