Califone Upgrades Boom Mic on Discovery DS4V Headset
Califone announced an upgrade to its Discovery DS4V headset.
The boom mic of the Discovery has been upgraded to a rugged plastic-encased flexible arm, replacing its previously fixed arm. The flexible arm enables users to position the dynamic microphone closer to the mouth. The boom retains its pivot feature enabling the entire microphone assembly to swing up alongside the strap of the headset when not in use. The remainder of the series (DS-8V, DS-8VT, DS-9V) will retain the fixed arm.
The Discovery series has long been a staple for language learning because its ruggedness and sound quality. Its frequency range is tailored for the human voice, not music so the Discovery is ideal for situations stressing speech intelligibility. The extra deep earcups not only help block external ambient noise but they’re also more comfortable.
