Califone Upgrades Performer Plus Boombox
Califone announced changes to its flagship Performer Plus Multimedia Player / Recorder for the upcoming 2013-14 academic year.
Relied on for use in academic and performing arts settings because of its flexibility and power, the new model 2455AV-04 boombox now has a detachable power supply instead of its former permanently attached cord. The new plug-in power supply can be readily adapted for use with European current specs. When not in use, it easily stores neatly inside a storage compartment in the rear of the boombox. Without the permanently attached cord, the improved Performer Plus also shed its rear-facing cord wrap extensions, giving the boombox a cleaner, refreshed aesthetic.
Tuning controls for the AM/FM stereo have also been improved to a tighter .9Hz, matching European standards for enhanced tuning ability.
The Performer Plus boombox retains its signature variable speed playback for cassette and CD-based audio, making it ideal for language learners and music performance classes. Its dual 5″ speakers are tailored to provide enhanced speech intelligibility, which is important as schools prepare for implementation for the upcoming Common Core State Standards in the 2014-15 school year.
Its big sound is also relied on for cloggers, dance troupes and Baton Twirlers. The Performer Plus boombox can also be used as a mini PA system for up to to one-hundred people with its built-in mic input.
The Performer Plus is built to give classrooms and other high use environments a long-lasting audio amplification solution. The exterior of the boombox is made using the more rugged ABS plastic and it’s warranty covers use in schools, a feature not covered by consumer items.
