Califone Upgrades Popular MP3 Capable Music Maker

Califone International, Inc, the premier manufacturer of quality sound presentation solutions for schools, industry, institutions and the workplace, has announced an upgrade to one of its best-selling boomboxes.
The technology-forward audio manufacturer has quadrupled the internal buffer on its MP3 capable Music Maker™ from 4MB to 16MB, translating into an industry-leading two minutes of shock-resistant playback capability. This feature can facilitate classroom learning, using the technology to help keep students on task in the event the media player is nudged (or the table it’s sitting on) while playing a CD, the audio won’t skip and cause a distraction to the lesson or task at hand.
Since the rate of play on CD’s is slower than the larger memory cache stores information, the Music Maker™ will occasionally stop spinning the CD (even though music will continue to be heard). This is to be expected until the memory is depleted and more information can be re-uploaded into the buffer.
“It’s a well-documented fact that teachers and students are increasingly reliant on CDs created from multiple sources and this technology can help them integrate that material into the classroom,” comments Tim Ridgway, the company’s Director of Marketing. “With over 60 years of experience serving educational audio needs, we can offer the widest range of powerful, durable and easy-to-use solutions. Upgrading the line of multimedia players is part of our ongoing commitment to developing and improving the product line.”
